Antarctica Wildlife

“If Antarctica were music it would be Mozart. Art, and it would be Michelangelo. Literature, and it would be Shakespeare. And yet it is something even greater; the only place on earth that is still as it should be. May we never tame it.” ― Andrew Denton

I have had the opportunity to travel on two expeditions to Antarctica, South Georgia, & the Falkland Islands. My first experience was so remarkable that I never thought that it could be outdone. Then I went for a second time and it my breath was again taken away. Nothing can describe the sight (or smell) of standing in the midst of twenty to thirty thousand penguins and fur seals. As most of these animals have never had bad human encounters they are comfortable with humans being near them and just walk around you as if you are just another one of them.
